Which players can you bet are going to have their season ended?
ESPN The Jump: Manti Te’o has been ruled out of the New York Giants’ Week 1 game against the Carolina Panthers after suffering a concussion on Saturday.
Te’oh said Sunday on ESPN that he suffered a concussion during the fourth quarter of the Giants’ 21-16 win over the Miami Dolphins.
The linebacker suffered the injury during a tackle.
Teo said he was not sure if he will miss the game, and his status for Sunday’s game against Miami is unclear.
Te’o will miss at least the next four games for the Giants, who have not played since Week 1.
They will play the Philadelphia Eagles, the Miami Hurricanes, the Tennessee Titans and the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2.
The Giants have won just one of their past four games and will look to end the Giants season against Miami, which is on a bye week.
The Dolphins have not won since March 11 and have not had a winning season since 2009.
The Giants won their past three games by a combined 10 points.
Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera says the team has no plans to alter its defensive scheme to slow down Te’oe in the game.
Teoh has two interceptions this season and is on pace to have four interceptions this year.
Teos name is often mentioned as one that could be on the NFL’s radar for the first time if he gets a second chance.
“You can tell by his performance last year,” Rivera said.
“His production was good.
His awareness, he’s always a good player and he’s got a lot of talent.
He’s a great young man.
I think the guy is going to be a great addition to our team.
I’m confident he’s going to bring a lot to our defense.”
Teo’s name was floated as a candidate for the team’s first-round draft pick.
The Jets have been linked to Te’Oo as a possible trade chip, but Rivera said Sunday that Teo has not been approached by the Jets.
Teoe is expected to be on hand for the Jets’ game against Philadelphia, and the Jets have said they will keep Teo in the locker room after Sunday’s contest.
