Red Sox GM Billy Beane ‘shocked’ to see MLBPA negotiating deal with Dodgers
MLBPA President Dave Campos said Friday that a deal has been struck between the two sides.
The Dodgers announced they had reached a one-year, $5.5 million deal with MLB on Thursday.
According to the LA Times, MLB is expecting to finalize the deal within the next week.
The deal is a big step up from the $1 million salary Beane received last season and comes on the heels of an agreement the two parties reached in September, which included a $3.2 million buyout for the player and a $5 million buy-out for himself.
The two sides also agreed to extend Beane’s contract through 2019.
