Which MLB teams will be the most expensive to play in 2020?
The 2020 MLB season will kick off in mid-April, but the MLB players association has already announced the prices for the teams to be played in 2020.
The New York Yankees will cost fans in New York, the Chicago White Sox will cost teams in Chicago, and the Tampa Bay Rays will cost the Los Angeles Angels in Los Angeles.
The cheapest team will cost $1.6 million, and that price includes the $800,000 in team-related expenses like the clubhouse, locker room, food, merchandise, etc. The team’s total salary will cost just over $3.5 million, which includes $500,000 for the players’ salary and $1,500,00 for a $100,000 luxury tax that will be levied on players who are not eligible for free agency.
The AL East will be represented by the New York Mets, the Boston Red Sox, and Philadelphia Phillies.
The AL West will be supported by Houston Astros, Seattle Mariners, Oakland Athletics, and Minnesota Twins.
The NL East will feature the Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago Cubs, New York Giants, and San Francisco Giants.
The average price per ticket will be $2,936, which means the cheapest team in the MLB will be just over half the price of the cheapest teams in the NFL and NBA.
According to MLBTR, the average MLB team will be priced at $5.4 million in 2020, which is $6.1 million cheaper than the average price of a team in Major League Baseball in 2020 ($8.9 million).
The cheapest MLB team in 2020 will cost roughly $2.9 Million per ticket, and it is estimated that MLB teams can earn $2 Million more per ticket with the exception of the most overpriced teams in their league.
With the MLB season starting on April 1, 2020, fans should start thinking about which team they are going to watch in the 2019-20 season.
